Mar 01, 2010 (newstodate): Russia saw a major recovery in its cargo and mail volumes in January 2010, compared to last year.
Russian carrier lifted a total of 58,340 tonnes of cargo in January 2010, an increase by 61.1 percent, y-o-y.
January 2009 was, however, also the worst period ever for Russia's air cargo industry that saw volumes down more than 30 percent compared to 2008.
Five Russian carrier, including ABC, Volga-Dnepr, Aeroflot, Polet and Transaero together accounted for 70.7 percent of the total, corresponding to 41,236 tonnes of cargo and mail.
