Mar 05, 2010 (newstodate): Latvia has hopes for seeing new trans-Atlantic services in the near future.
The hopes are fueled by a recent visit to American Airlines at Dallas Fort Worth by Riga's vice-mayor, who has told press of the possibility that American Airlines may introduce direct flights between USA and Latvia from 2011-12, already.
Since October 321, 2004, Uzbekistan Airways has provided direct flights through Riga with Boeing 767-300 aircraft on its route between Tashkent and New York, offering two weekly services during the summer schedules.
Also looming in the horizon are the long-promised flights by the US airline under formation, Baltic Air Lines, planning also to fly in from New York.
