Mar 29, 2010 (newstodate): The Norwegian freighter service between Oslo and destinations in the USA will be resumed from May 1, 2010.
The scheduled services have been suspended since March 17, 2010, leading to speculations in the market about the future of the service that was launched on December 5, 2009, as a JV between Sundt Air and Air Atlanta Icelandic.
-While the scheduled twice-weekly service is suspended, the aircraft is flying on a contract basis and it will then be handed back to Air Atlanta Icelandic, says Arild Jaabaek, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge CEO.
-But any speculations about our future are indeed off the mark. We will actually resume services again from May 1, 2010, with two Boeing 747-200F aircraft, one of which will be operated on the scheduled freighter service while the other will be operated on a firm contract with a customer.
Acording to Mr Jaabaek, the exact routing of the scheduled service, so far Oslo-New York-Miami-Amsterdam-Oslo, has not yet been finalized and may contain changes against the current plan.
