Mar 03, 2010 (newstodate): New direct non-stop Boeing 747 flights by US carrier under formation, Baltia Air Lines between New York JFK and St Petersburg are taking a further step towards realization.
The new carrier yet to launch operations after so far 20 years of preparations has now signed a fuel agreement with Sovex for purchase and delivery of jet fuel at Russia's St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport.
The start-up carrier took delivery of its first Boeing 747 aircraft in November 2009 after signing an engine lease agreement with Logistic Air in January 2010, providing a power-by-the-hour solution to its needs for compulsion.
After starting trans-Atlantic flights between New York and St Petersburg, the carrier has further plans for routes from New York to Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, and Riga.
