Mar 08, 2010 (newstodate): The Hungarian government wants to save the national airline Malev by buying up the share of the Russian party, Airbridge. But this will require EU approval.
If plans go through, and the EU Commission nods, Malev will be 95 percent owned by the state, with the remaining five percent of the stock in Russian hands.
Several parties, have, however, objected to the reconstruction as this will, in their opinion, mean state support interfering with competition in the market.
