Mar 10, 2010 (newstodate): As was the case with the other Baltic airports, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport also saw its cargo volumes on the rise in February 2010.
A total of 377 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 28.7 percent, y-o-y.
Of the total, 240 tonnes was airfreight while mail volumes were 137 tonnes.
During the first two months of this year, total volumes have increased by 22.6 percent, y-o-y, to 764 tonnes.
The volume of aircraft movements at the airport has gone up by 15 percent, y-o-y, but the recovery is mainly provided by operations with smaller regional aircraft with limited cargo capacity.
