Mar 23, 2010 (newstodate): The route between Riga, Latvia, and Copenhagen, Denmark, may become the first to be served with the carrier's new Bombardier Q400NG aircraft.
As seen on the GDS timetables, airBaltic will introduce the Q400 on the route to Copenhagen from May 1, 2010, with the route from Riga to Stockholm, Sweden, to follow from May 2, 2010, and routes to Belgrade, Serbia, Berlin, Germany, Oslo, Norway and Luleaa, Sweden, to follow successively.
airBaltic is preparing to take delivery of its first of eight new Bombardier Q400 aircraft in April, 2010, with the remainder to follow suit before the end of October this year.
Earlier plans saw the delivery of the Q400 aircraft by the end of May, 2009, already, the second in the middle and third one by the end of June, 2009.
But issues including the re-financing of the aircraft after the the carrier's change of ownership delayed the process.
