Mar 31, 2010 (newstodate): airBaltic has today confirmed its intention of setting up a new base at Estonia's Tallinn Airport.
-The base will open from June, 2010, coinciding with the opening of our planned route betseen Tallinn and Stockholm, Sweden, says Janis Vanags, airBaltic VP corporate communications.
-airBaltic will base three aircraft overnight at Tallinn Airport, and we will increasingly hire Estonian cockpit and cabin crews in addition to those already in our service.
-As we intend to add more new routes from Tallinn, airBaltic will also introduce ground handling, and as the aircraft will stay here during the night, it will also require the establishing of technical services, says Mr Vanags.
Besides, airBaltic is also considering the addition of other non-airline services like airport taxi services and other options.
