Mar 03, 2010 (newstodate): High on the list of priorities of the Latvian ground handling company North Hub Services is expansion into new Nordic and Baltic markets.
Estonia is among the prime targets, and North Hub Services has announced that a move will be made in 2010, breaking the existing monopoly by the airport's own handling company, Tallinn airport GH.
-Ground handling services are not currently licensed at Tallinn Airport, so any decision on this issue is made directly between the airport and any new potential service provider, says Erik Sakkov, Tallinn Airport member of the Board.
From the outset, once a decision to go into Estonia is made, the handling company may ride on the back of the Latvian carrier airBaltic as the two companies share ownership by the same group of investors.
Besides Tallinn Airport, Tallinn Airport Ltd also manages the Estonian airports of Tartu, Parnu, Kuressaare, Kardla, Kihnu and Ruhnu.
