Mar 10, 2010 (newstodate): The Danish charter carrier and ACMI provider, Jet Time is now moving into the airfreight market.
Last week, the carrier took delivery of its sixth Boeing 737-300 aircraft, a Boeing 737-300QC that will add to the capabilities of the airline that has provision of flights for tour operators as its core business.
-With the QC aircraft we will offer ad-hoc uplift for special projects and e.g. relief operations, while not entering the market for general cargo. Among the cargo flights already performed by Jet Time are flights from Spain to Slovenia with auto parts as well as relief flights to Haiti. Flights with ships spares and equipment for off-shore industries also fall within our scope of operations, says Steen Elmer Jensen, Jet Time Sales Manager, Special Charters ACMI & Cargo.
-As Jet Time is new to this business, we will first gather experience in the air cargo market before a decision may be made as to whether to go deeper into this segment, but we have had quite a number of requests and send out proposals so there is obviously a niche for us here.
-As we are now entering the busy summer season, our aircraft capacity is fully engaged with charter flights for tour operators but there is still a margin to take in freight operations when feasible.
-The Boeing 737-300QC can lift up to 16 tonnes of cargo over a range of 4,000 km and is available from Jet Air within four hours of response time, says Mr Jensen.
