Mar 03, 2010 (newstodate): Denmark's second-largest international airport, Billund Airport is taking its full share of the general upturn in the air cargo industry.
With a total of 4,060 tonnes of cargo in February 2010, the airport saw its volumes up by 26.8 percent, y-o-y.
For the first two months of this year, statisics show a growth by 21.9 percent, y-o-y, to total of 7,995 tonnes.
The strong recovery is driven by import air cargo that was up no less than 69.6 percent, y-o-y, in February and by 50.7 percent, y-o-y, in January-February 2010.
Airfreight exports, however, are still below last year's levels, down 6.6 percent, y-o-y, in February and by 2.8 percent, y-o-y, in the first two months of this year.
