Mar 31, 2010 (newstodate): Emirates may be mulling plans for finally opening flights on the long-awaited route from Dubai to Copenhagen in 2011, according to industry sources.
The carrier has had Copenhagen as a tentative new destination since 2006, first setting October 3, 2006 as the launch date with four weekly A330-200 flights, increasing to daily operations from October 29, 2006, later setting October 31, 2007, for launch of the service with three weekly flights using Airbus A340 aircraft.
However plans were repeatedly stalled for various reasons..
In the meantime Qatar Airways has now launched services between Doha and Copenhagen, while SAS and Norwegian has served Dubai during the winter season.
