Mar 24, 2010 (newstodate): Effective from March 29, 2010, the Chinese carrier Yangtze River Express Airlines plans to open a new freighter route from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Prague and Luxembourg.
Yangtze River Express Airlines, the first JV airline by investors from both Mainland China and Taiwan, will operate three weekly rotations on the route using Boeing 747-400F aircraft.
By opening this new route, the carrier will construct an air network with twin hubs at Prague and Luxembourg respectively to cover Eastern and Western Europe, and the new route will also be the first direct freighter service between Shanghai and Prague.
Yangtze River Express has named SkyXS, headed by Jan Chyba, area manager SkyXS Czech Republic, as its GSSA responsible for supervision of the operation in Prague, while the entire SkyXS organization will serve as the carrier's GSA in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria Croatia and Greece.
Performing its first flight in 2003 with Boeing 737 aircraft, Yangtze River Express now operates a fleet comprising eight Boeing 737 and three Boeing 747 freighter aircraft, set to grow to a total of 15 aircraft by 2011
