Mar 08, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is seeing membership of its new mileage program, BalticMiles growing fast since the launch in late 2009.
-As we left the SAS Group last autumn, we needed to set up our own mileage program. And we have come off to a promising start, with more than 100,000 members registered already, and aiming at reaching one million members before the end of this year, says Bertolt Flick, airBaltic President & CEO.
-BalticMiles is different from the SAS Eurobonus program as our concept goes beyond a traditional airline mileage program. We aim at attracting more and more partners from outside the airline's own circles, and we have currently more than 15 participants in the program, with more to come and with more new offers to be added, including, from April, a brand-new internet shop.
-The core, of course, remains the airline, and customer loyalty is the crux of the concept. But we want to expand this to comprise a wide selection of offers and opportunities from airBaltic as well as the other participants in the program, says Mr Flick.
