Feb 24, 2010 (newstodate): Uzbekistan's Termez Airport has undergone large modernisation projects, and is still to be developed further.
Already completed is the construction of a new control tower, a new terminal building, an upgraded 2,000 m runway, a weather station, as well as facilities for aircraft maintenance.
Already now progressing are projects for modernization of the airport's technical base and the airport infrastructure, and a continued modernization of the airport's ATM capabilities.
The airport is served with scheduled services by Uzbekistan Airways and Moscovia Airlines, but is also seeking a role in the air cargo industry.
The airport has served carriers from many nations in support of the ISAF forces in Afghanistan, contributing to its development.
