Feb 18, 2010 (newstodate): The Italian carrier Alitalia is pulling out from the Ukrainean market from this spring.
The carrier will discontinue its services between Milan and Kiev from March 28, 2010, and passenger between Italy and Ukraine will thus lose their nonstop option.
While no official statement on the cause behind the decision to pull out has been made, the reason is probably low profitability of the flights in a depressed market.
Also to be axed are Alitalia's routes from Milan to Algeria, Istanbul, Sofia, Tel Aviv and Tripoli.
