Feb 10, 2010 (newstodate): The global market for ramp aircraft has grown annually at 30 percent in the past five years, according to Volga-Dnepr.
Volga-Dnepr, a leader in this segment, is forecasting the market to exceed three billion USD by 2020 and seven billion by 2030, and a market study conducted by consulting firm, SH&E, has confirmed the requirement for 70 AN- 124 airplanes by 2030 to meet the demand.
Volga-Dnepr Group has confirmed its commitment to order 20 of the new upgraded AN-124 aircraft in the period from 2011 to 2020 and a further 20 aircraft from 2021 to 2027.
The group currently operates a fleet of 10 AN-124 Ruslan aircraft that can lift a payload of up to 150 tonnes on flights over 5,000 km.
