Feb 03, 2010 (newstodate): The government of the Omsk region and Russia's Rosaviatsiya have agreed on the terms for finalizing the construction of Omsk Fedorovka Airport to replace the existing Omsk Tsentralny Airport now serving the region.
The new airport is poised to play a crucial role in the planned set-up of a multi-modal transport complex around Omsk, but the project has been delayed for a long period of time, leaving the airport only 60 percent finished.
A tender for drawing up a business plan for the airport has now been opened and is expected to be concluded in March, 2010, and both Russian and foreign export companies will be invited to participate.
The Omsk Fedorovka Airport is now slated to be commissioned by 2012
