Feb 10, 2010 (newstodate): Blue Air, Romania's largest low-cost carrier, has injected cash into Bacau George Enescu International Airport, in the north-eastern part of Romania.
The cooperation marks the first public-private partnership for development of a Romanian airport.
The investment goes into the share capital of BlueAero that manages the airport and will support BlueAero in meeting the obligations in the 34-year concession to operate and modernize the airport.
In the plans is the construction of a new passenger terminal and redevelopment of the 2,500 m runway.
Operators at the airport include Tarom, Carpatair and ClubAir
