Feb 01, 2010 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport is poised to become the first in Russia to deploy a multilateration surface surveillance solution.
The airport has opted for the Czech company Era Corporation to deploy its multilateration surface surveillance solution at Domodedovo in 2010 as part of its ongoing runway upgrade project.
The new system will include multilateration sensors deployed in the aerodrome, stations for central data processing, and 150 vehicle transmitters.
Deployment of the multilateration surface surveillance solution will enhance accuracy of data on aircraft and vehicles location in the aerodrome thus providing reliable surface control; increase safety level in all weather conditions in any part of the airfield, and pave the way for further implementation of advance technologies facilitating punctuality of flights, capacity increase and finally safety provision.
