Feb 17, 2010 (newstodate): Russia's Kazan International Airport, in Tatarstan, is to be modernized under a project estimated around 100 mio Rubles.
Comprised by the modernization project currently under the regional government's negotiation is the construction of two passenger terminals, re-construction of the existing terminal, and a new cargo terminal and logistics centre.
With the projects for construction and re-construction of the terminals, the airport's passenger handling capacity will be increased by 400 percent, to 2,000 passengers per hour.
The projects should be finished by 2012, in time for the World Universidade in Tatarstan.
