Feb 22, 2010 (newstodate): the Lithuanian air company flyLAL Charters is planning for the launch of a new subsidiary in Italy.
The new carrier will be registered in spring in cooperation with the Italian partner Aeroservizi, a partner to flyLAL Charters for several years.
The application for the new carrier's AOC is in progress and expected later this spring.
flyLAL Charters is operating two Boeing 737 aircraft in Italy, and this will go up to four aircraft when the new company is in the air.
Further down the line, flyLAL Charters is also eyeing an entry into the Polish market, having already set up the legal entity and applied for an AOC, expected by the end of April.
