Feb 25, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier is soon to take delivery of its first of eight new Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft.
The first delivery was originally planned for November, 2009, but has now been delayed till April 2010, with all eight Dash 8 aircraft in airBaltic's fleet by October - in time for the start of the 2010/11 winter schedule.
-We will however not stop at that. We are already planning the ordering of a further batch of Dash 8 aircraft to be delivered as soon as feasible, says Bertolt Flick, airBaltic president & CEO.
The new aircraft will be put into operation on medium-range routes, and they will be operates alongside the Fokker 50 aircraft that will be phased out only from 2013.
