Feb 22, 2010 (newstodate): Kazakhstan is eager to see its carriers lifted off the EU Black List.
The Prime Minister has asked his transport ministry to ensure that the carriers are off the list again by the end of this year, and staff has been hired from outside to assist in the setting up and manning of the country's new Civil Aviation Committee.
Only Air Astana is currently permitted to operate flights into the EU, and has no immediate plans for setting up new routes into the EU that would also not be allowed under the current restrictions.
