Feb 1, 2010 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport has so far handled four relief flights with aid shipments for Tahiti.
The first flight was on January 16, 2010, when a British Airways Boeing 747 passenger aircraft was loaded with shipments both in the belly and, more noteworthy, in the cabin where passenger seats had been covered.
On Wednesday, January 20, the airport handled a Boeing 747 freighter from Southern Air, while two more relief flights were handled on Friday, January 22, 2010 - one Air Georgia IL-76, and one BA World Cargo Boeing 747 freighter.
Three of the flights were carrying shipments from Unicef that has its main logistics center and relief supplies warehouse at Copenhagen, Denmark, and the fourth flights was ordered by the Danish Red Cross.
