Feb 11, 2010 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo may be moving back into all-cargo services again, according to sources in the market.
In January 2008, Finnair sold two MD-11 aircraft to the now-defunct Aeroflot-Cargo for conversion into freighters.
After the demise of Aeroflot-Cargo as a separate subsidiary, Aeroflot has decided to divest itself of the converted freighters that are now back with Finnair that is considering putting them into service.
The freighter may be considered for operations between Finland and the booming Asian market, or for trans-Atlantic operations.
So far, no official comment on the issue has been obtained from Finnair Cargo.
