Feb 08, 2010 (newstodate): Latvia's Riga Airport continued its steady growth in cargo volumes through January, 2010.
In January, total volumes grew by 34.7 percent, y-o-y, to 825 tonnes including 287 tonnes of cargo and 438 tonnes of mail.
The airport's positive development in cargo volumes has been unbroken since January, 2009.
The total volumes are however still a far cry from the leading cargo airport in the Baltic region, Estonia's Tallinn Airport that saw its volumes up by 15.3 percent, y-o-y, in January, to a total of 2,096 tonnes.
But while Tallinn Airport saw its volumes halved in 2009, Riga Airport has been growing in volumes all through the period.
