Feb 25, 2010 (newstodate): Armenian carrier Armavia is in final preparations for the launch of flights on the route from Yerevan to Beirut and Larnaka.
The carrier is further announcing the launch in 2010 of new routes from Yerevan to Barcelona, Poland, Rimini, and plans are also on the table for the acquisition of two Airbus A330 aircraft to start operations to New York and possibly to a destination in Canada, pending government approval.
Armavia currently operates a fleet comprising six Airbus A320 Family aircraft and one Bombardier CRJ200.
Armavia is also to become the first airline to operate the new Russian Superjet 100 aircraft, holding orders for two units that are, however, much delayed in delivery that will now expectedly take place in the final months of 2010.
