Dec 13, 2010 (newstodate): The Swiss handling company Swissport's Ukrainian subsidiary has extended operations to include also Kharkov airport.
The expansion by Swissport Ukraine into the east of the country is a first step to grow business to other Ukrainean airports and services in light of the EURO 2012 and the country's economic recovery.
On December 1, 2010, Kharkov International Airport opened a modern, 20.000 sq m terminal with a capacity of two mio passengers per year and 1.600 passengers per hour.
The airport currently offers connections to 16 cities operated by 11 airlines, with more expected to come closer to the EURO 2012.
Swissport Ukraine launched business from June 1, 2006, at Kiev Boryspil Airport in a JV with Ukraine International Airlines.
