Dec 10, 2010 (newstodate): While the recent period has been bleak for strike-hit Finnair, the latest figures on cargo volumes are still comforting news.
A total of 11,945 tonnes of cargo was carried by the airline in November - an increase by 45.8 percent, y-o-y.
As always, the growth was primarily driven by Asian volumes, 6,287 tonnes and up 14.4 percent, but all traffic segments, excluding leisure traffic, proved positive in November.
North Atlantic traffic was modest in growth, up 3.9 percent to 697 tonnes, but European growth was 28.4 percent, to 2,020 tonnes.
During January-November 2010, the airline carried a total of 113,655 tonnes, up 38.4 percent, with Asian traffic retaining the lead position with 68,257 tonnes, growing by 25.7 percent.
