Dec 02, 2010 (newstodate): Long awaited, construction works will start at Russia's Omsk Fedorovka Airport in 2011.
In May 2010, HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH won the tender for the modernisation of Russia's Omsk Fedorovka Airport that will replace the existing Omsk Tsentralny Airport now serving the region.
The new airport is poised to play a crucial role in the planned set-up of a multi-modal transport complex around Omsk.
The project has been delayed for a long period of time, leaving the airport only 60 percent finished, but plans are now to complete the works and commission the airport in 2014.
