Dec 20, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has reportedly found a new ownership structure.
50 percent of the shares have been sold by Baltic Aviation Systems, owned by the carrier's president and CEO Bertolt Flick, to the Bahamas-registered Russian investment fund Taurus Asset Management Fund Limited, owned by a Russian national, Stanislav Kovtun.
Otherwise highly communicative, airBaltic has so far not sent out an official announcement on the issue.
Industry sources say that the capital raised by Mr Flick may be used for setting up a new carrier in Lithuania, officially to be launched in 2011.
