Dec 14, 2010 (newstodate): For Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport, November proved only the second month in 2010 to come out with positive growth in airfreight volumes.
A total of 6,483 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a growth by 9.8 percent, y-o-y.
This brought the total for the first 11 months of 2010 to 65,703 tonnes, which is a decline by 7.4 percent, y-o-y.
In 2010, international cargo has been down 5.6 percent to 39,675 tonnes, while domestic cargo has dropped 10 percent to 26,028 tonnes.
The figures are the official statistical data from the airport.
They do not, however, paint the full picture of the situation as they do not comprise, among others, volumes carried by Norwegian and Thai Airways Cargo that lifts up to 20 tonnes of export cargo on daily flights from the airport.
