Dec 21, 2010 (newstodate): Plans are now on the able for construction of a new cargo complex at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
Construction works on the new complex will be completed by autumn 2011, and the first phase of the facility will launch operations by the end of the year and be fully developed by the end of 2012..
Behind the project are the Federal Government and the Russian financial and industrial conglomerate Interros that will also be pushing for new cargo terminals at the airports of Krasnoyarsk and St Petersburg.
Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport estimates cargo volumes to reach 250,000 tonnes in 2017.
