Dec 09, 2010 (newstodate): The new cargo GSA since the start of 2010 in the Baltic region, Sky High Agency is seeing sustained growth and development, and plans for a major expansion in 2011.
Owned and managed by Agris Sedolins, Sky High Agency launched sales work from March 1 this year, serving the Belarus carrier Belavia Cargo in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from the office in Riga.
-Belavia has proved its importance to the air cargo markets in the Baltic and Scandinavian markets, and new Belavia destinations from Minsk will be Ashgabad in Turkmenistan from December 21, 2010, followed by the opening of flights to Tehran, says Agris Sedolins.
-While these destinations may not be among the largest on a world scale, they still attract air cargo, and Belavia provides one of few options to customers in our markets.
-So while we have been doing quite well from the start here in Latvia, we are now planning to expand further into the Baltic and Nordic region in 2011.
-In the plans is, first, the opening of a new office in Lithuania by early January 2011, followed by the addition of an own office in Finland by the end of January 2011, and we are also planning for offices in Denmark and Norway to follow thereafter.
-In the Swedish market, we are cooperating with a partner, Scandinavian AirBridge, and this cooperation will continue unchanged rendering the opening of an own office superfluous.
-Situated only 200 km from Minsk, and adding road feeder services to Belavia's flights we are ideally positioned to make full use of this airline partner that generates both import and export cargo into and from the Baltic and Nordic markets, says Mr Sedolins.
