Dec 01, 2010 (newstodate): Since November 20, Finnair Cargo is operating a weekly freighter service from Helsinki to Frankfurt.
The operation is performed with a Finnair Airbus 340-300 passenger aircraft with a lower deck cargo capacity of 55 tonnes, or 110 cubic meters.
-Despite the current strike grounding most of Finnair's passenger operations, this cargo flight between Helsinki and Frankfurt will operate as planned every Saturday as part of our normal service, not added because of the strike, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo marketing manager.
-Our scheduled MD-11F operations to Hong Kong, Seoul and New York are also unaffected by the strike.
-Finally, our road feeder services from Helsinki to destinations in the Nordics and elsewhere in Europe are fully adequate to help us handling the European situation, and we are not to add other European cargo flights by passenger aircraft, says Ms Nyholm.
