Dec 15, 2010 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport expects to reach 60,000 tonnes of cargo handled in 2010 by this afternoon.
This will mark a new record for the airport's cargo center, surpassing the earlier milestone from 2007 when 58,6178 tonnes of cargo were handled.
-We are thus almost sure to end the year with some 62-63,000 tonnes of cargo and a growth around 35 percent y-o-y, says Jan Ditlevsen, Billund Airport cargo manager.
-So far into 2010, Billund Airport has seen import volumes growing fast by 56.4 percent and export volumes up by 16.9 percent, reflecting both the general upsurge in the Danish economy and the strong growth in industrial and trade enterprises within our catchment area, says Mr Ditlevsen.
