Dec 15, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter airline and ACMI provider Aurela Airlines is currently amidst a process to refinance its activities.
The carrier, based at Vilnius Airport, was set up in 1996 as a joint-stock air company as the first private aviation company in Lithuania.
In the fleet now are two Boeing 737-300 aircraft after Aurela earlier let go of its two Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
Should the carrier not succeed in its efforts to find new owners, it would follow the sad path already taken by Star1 Airlines that folded its wings last month, and flyLAL, out of business from the start of 2009.
