Dec 17, 2010 (newstodate): Aeroflot is reportedly planning to sell its majority stake in Nordavia, formerly known as Aeroflot-Nord.
The Aeroflot board will pass a decision on the issue at its meeting in January 2011, and it is expected to lead to sale of the 51 percent stake in the carrier.
Aeroflot Nord experienced a fatal accident in September 2008 leading to the later change of name to dissociate it from Aeroflot.
In the fleet of Nordavia are 23 aircraft, including 18 Boeing 737 aircraft serving a network comprising 21 destinations in Russia's northern region
