Nov 19, 2010 (newstodate): Poland's Warsaw Chopin Airport has seen a record-high increase in cargo volumes in 2010.
In the first nine months of this year, the airport handled a total of 29,600 tonnes of cargo - an incrase by 23.6 percent, y-o-y.
Included in the totals were 29,200 tonnes of international cargo, up 24.5 percent, and 400 tonnes of domestic cargo, down 19.4 percent.
Of the international cargo volumes, 17,500 tonnes were exports, and 11,700 tonnes were import cargo.
The single most important cargo destinations included Leipzig, 3,700 tonnes, Cologne, 3,500 tonnes, Chicago, 2,700 tonnes, Seoul, 2,600 tonnes, New York, 1,800 tonnes, and Paris with 1,700 tonnes.
Topping the list of cargo carriers were LOT, UPS Airlines, Sprint Air and TNT Airways.
