Nov 18, 2010 (newstodate): Brazil will again be connected by direct air services to Russia from next year.
The Russian carrier Transaero plans to launch services on the route between Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Rio de Janeiro, introducing a weekly flight from January 3, 2011, with Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
The route was last served by Aeroflot who pulled out from the route in 2001.
In 2010 the carrier opened its first flights to the Americas, connecting Moscow with routes to New York and Miami.
