Nov 09, 2010 (newstodate): Norway's successful low-cost airline Norwegian has signed a contract with IFLC for lease of two Boeing 787 aircraft for use on its planned long-haul routes.
Norwegian will take delivery of the aircraft from autumn 2012, and the contract with IFLC also contains provisions for lease of a further four to six aircraft, currently being negotiated.
Norwegian will launch flights to New York and Bangkok from 2011 and will thus need short-term leasing arrangements for suitable long-haul aircraft till the Boeing 787 enter service with the carrier.
IFLC holds contracts with Boeing for a total of 74 Boeing 787 aircraft.
