Nov 15, 2010 (newstodate): SAS Cargo's handling arm, Spirit Air Cargo Handling has taken over its new cargo terminal at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, but the launch of operations is still delayed.
Originally slated for October 31, 2010, the date was later changed to the latter half of November 2010. But this will hardly be achieved either.
-Spirit is ready to cut over operations from the existing to the new terminal, but Swedavia is still behind schedule as to completion of the airside apron area, says Bjorn Kardell, SAS Spirit Sweden managing director.
-We are therefore forced to remain at the old terminal, which is, though, no major problem neither for us, nor for our customers. On the other hand were are of course eager to open our new facility to benefit from the advantages it will offer as to lead-times and efficiency, says Mr Kardell.
No new launch date is available at the moment.
