Nov 17, 2010 (newstodate): Bankruptcy proceedings concerning the Lithuanian carrier Star1 Airlines are moving on after the carrier's owner proved unable to sustain its continued operations.
But while no optimistic news have reached the market, prospects for an eventual Chinese injection of fresh capital to revive the airline are still not entirely written-off.
-We cannot confirm anything on this issue, but the dialogue opened has not been called off and who knows if a solution will be found in the end, says a company spokesperson.
Last month a delegation from Hainan Airlines came to Lithuania to meet with the Lithuanian ministry of transportation, Vilnius Airport and the management of Star1 Airlines.
The visit produced a report to the owners of Hainan Airlines, but so far nothing has emerged from this process.
