Nov 03, 2010 (newstodate): The Turkish cargo and logistics provider, ULS is seeing traffic returning to Tallinn, Estonia.
A representative from ULS Airlines told newstodate that ULS resumed traffic with three weekly Airbus A300 flights carrying ex-China shipments to Russia via Tallinn Airport from mid-August this year.
Since earlier this year, the traffic came to a halt as Russian Customs enforced severe measures to counteract the flow of illegal copy goods and shipments under false or insufficient documentation.
-A new customs system and procedures have now been implemented by Russian Customs, and traffic is slowly returning to normal. But there are still problems, and the pace is much below earlier levels, the spokesman says.
The Chinese shipments by ULS to Russia via Estonia normally account for at least 80 percent of the airport's total cargo volumes, so the current situation has left a strong negative mark on its statistical performance so far into 2010.
