9.Nov 04, 2010 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport is still deep down on its negative trend in air cargo volumes in 2010.
A total of 1,143 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport in October 2010- down 59.9 percent, y-o-y.
The decline remains caused by the shortfall of ex-China exports for Russia, transiting through the airport. The Turkish logistics company ULS did resume traffic on a limited scale from mid-August, but the effect is still low on total volumes, especially the cargo imports that were down 66.7 percent, y-o-y, with 884 tonnes.
On the positive side, the airport's cargo exports, 172 tonnes, were up 52.9 percent, y-o-y, in October.
During the first 10 months of 2010 Tallinn Airport handled a total of 10,023 tonnes of cargo - down 40.1 percent, y-o-y.
7,864 tonnes of the total were cargo imports that were 47.3 percent down on last year.
