Nov 12, 2010 (newstodate): A new ground handling services group has emerged in the Nordic markets: Aviator Airport Alliance.
The group is formed by three existing handling providers: the Swedish company Nordic Aero and the Norwegian companies Roeros Flyservice and Norport Ground Handling.
The three companies share 50 percent of the equipty of the new Group, with the Swedish investment fund Accent Equity holding the other half.
Through subsidiaries, the group is also present in the Danish and Finnish markets for ground handling services.
Handling services are provided by the group employing 1,250 staff at some 20 airports in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, with airline customers including Air Baltic, Air France, Amapola, British Airways, Finnair, KLM/AF, Malmo Aviation, NextJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Qatar Airways, Skyways and Thomas Cook.
By this consolidation pressure is mounting on the SAS Group's SGS as well as on plans by the Latvian handling company North Hub Services' plans for expansion into all major airports in the region.
