Nov 17, 2010 (newstodate): A total of 7,013 tonnes of cargo passed through Armenia's Zvartnots Airport during the first 10 months of 2010.
Total included 4,271 tones of imports and 2,742 tonnes of exports.
In the country's second largest airport Gyumri Shirak International Airport, a total of 5,700 tonnes of cargo was handled.
To serve the purpose as an alternative airport, Gyumri Shirak Airport was re-opened in November, 2007, after a a major update program to renovate runway and other infrastructure.
The airport has not, however, been able to attract foreign airlines that fear that security measures are inadequate.
