Nov 25, 2010 (newstodate): Revenues from overflight airnav charges are a significant source of revenue to support a country's aviation infrastructure - but in the case of Bosnia not just the aircraft, but also the revenues fly past..
Until 2007, the control of Bosnia's airspace was still vested with the international peacekeeping forces in the wake of the civil war in the 90'ies.
The country is now building up its ATM capabilities, but it will require a further two years before Bosnia can finally obtain full control of its airspace.
In the meantime, the overflight airnav services are provided by Serbia and Croatia that thus also reap more than half of the revenues.
