Nov 12, 2010 (newstodate): Aviator Airport Alliance, the new cooperation between three Scandinavian airport ground handling providers will have the financial strength to fight for a larger share of the region's handling markets.
-By itself, Nordic Aero did not have the necessary muscles to expand further in the Nordic markets although we have indeed tried, so this new constellation marks a significant step for us as well as for our partners, Roeros Flyservice and Norport Handling, says Jan Brunstedt, Nordic Aero CEO.
-Our joint concept is one-stop shopping for airlines with operations spread over Nordic airports, and we are convinced that this is what the industry calls for.
-With our new strength we will be able to defend our existing market share and gain further advances, and we will be in a prime position to fight against both serious and less-serious competitors, not naming anyone.
-Together we are currently providing handling services at 11 Norwegian and 10 Swedish airport, and we are determined to enter also Copenhagen Airport through our existing subsidiary, Copenhagen flight Services, probably in 2011 already.
-But we will restrict ourselves to the Nordic markets in the first place, says Mr Brundstedt.
